Pulse Fitness is one of Europe’s leading health and fitness companies. Its two core business areas span the design, build and operation of gyms across the UK along with the design, manufacture and distribution of cardiovascular and strength fitness equipment. In 2014 the company engaged Big Motive to design a new user interface for its new generation of cardio equipment. This lead to a wider role to develop a digital platform as Pulse ventured into the world of digital health tracking.
The creation of the Pulse Move app has encompassed a range of specialist activities including user insight and competitor analysis along with UX design, systems integration and mobile development for iOS and Android. The latest version of the app is fully localised to support a range of European languages.
Pulse Move enables gym operators to access valuable member data. Insights drawn from this data help to maximise member spend in gyms, create more efficient gym environments and understand how members interact with equipment such as frequency of use, duration and preferred workouts.
Pulse Move provides a critical strategic advantage to the organisation’s leadership team building on the rise of mobile in the global health and fitness industry along with Pulse’s desire to open up new sales channels. The app has become central to the brand’s global marketing function. The app has continued to grow its user base since its launch in summer 2015 and we’re busy working on the next set of enhancements.
