Building public confidence through design
From housing to libraries, parks to planning, Dublin City Council's services touch every part of city life. Online, they were spread across fragmented, outdated sites that were hard to use.
We have partnered with DCC over the long term to change how the city connects with its residents online, building one platform that is connected, inclusive and designed around the people who use it.
A unified civic experience, built for everyone
We joined up microsites, simplified forms and set shared design patterns across the city's services. Accessibility and plain content came first, and we gave the Council the tools, training and confidence to run the platform themselves.
From a city service to a national one
The work extended to voter.ie, which grew from a local resource into Ireland's national online voter registration platform. Our research and design recommendations helped secure €3 million in government funding, making it simpler and more secure for people across Ireland to register to vote.
A council that keeps improving
Today Dublin City Council has a platform it can grow and an approach it can keep building on. It shows what's possible when local government designs change around the people it serves.
